Your STEP files are read and rendered locally in your browser. Nothing is uploaded unless you save a project to your account. You can also download a .sbproj bundle any time to keep an editable local copy.
Anything that exports STEP (AP203 / AP214 / AP242) — Fusion 360, Mastercam, NX CAM, SolidWorks, CATIA and more. On Pro, SetupBoard also reads the job itself — tools and setups — straight from Fusion 360, Mastercam and NX CAM files.
Programmers build and edit setup sheets, so they need a seat. Operators only read them and never need a paid seat — on Pro and up you can put a QR code on the sheet that opens the live 3D setup, or hand them the offline .html export that opens in any browser with no account. Either way it's free for as many operators as you have. A shop owner can keep a seat and program too, or switch to billing-and-admin only and hand that seat to a programmer.
